MCKINNEY, Texas — SRS Distribution Inc. announced its partnership with the United States Army Partnership for Youth Success Program (PaYS) on Dec. 2, 2021.
The PaYS program is a partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross-section of companies, and public sector agencies. PaYS guarantees soldiers a job interview and possible employment after leaving the Army.
“Leaving the army is one of the most challenging things soldiers have to face. Programs like PaYS give hope to those that are leaving the military that they will find civilian employment,” said Luis Moyano, veteran program manager at SRS.
SRS committed to hiring 500 veterans by 2023, and has currently reached 469.
“We are adding an additional 500 new veteran employees to our original goal with an aim to have 1,000 veterans working at our company within the next five years," said Dan Tinker, president and CEO. "SRS is honored to sign this pledge today to solidify our partnership with the U.S. Army PaYS program, and we look forward to continuing to give back to those in our armed forces.”
The ceremony commenced with a full military color guard, and the singing of the National Anthem by SRS Distribution’s Kaitlin Wile. Following remarks from Lt. Col. John Harrell and Tinker, the two signed the PaYS pledge. The event concluded with ceremonial sword cake cutting and luncheon for those who attended.
