Roofing contractors don’t need the excuse of the holidays to give back to others, but there’s always a certain magic to their generous acts around this time of year.
There is no shortage of roofing companies who are going above and beyond to give back during the month of December. RC is highlighting just a few of those stories that would make Santa Claus proud.
Indy Roof Company Donates to Toys for Tots
Indy Roof Company in Indianapolis, Ind., donated a load of toys as well as $10,000 to Toys for Tots to ensure children in their communities have a great holiday. Indy Roof Company also teamed up with HailTrace to donate $20,000 to recovery efforts for victims of the Dec. 10-11 tornadoes.
“We do a lot of things for not only our local community, but communities around the world,” Aaron Christy, owner of Indy Roof Company, told WISH-TV.
Providence Roofing Hosts Giveaway for Roofing Services
Providence Roofing in Statesville, N.C., announced it will provide roofing services worth up to $10,000 to a family in need. Submissions are being collected through its website and the winner will be announced Christmas Day on Facebook.
“My business partner (Thomas Critcher) and I felt like God has blessed us so much this year with work, it’s only fitting for us to give back,” Ashley Hull, owner of Providence Roofs, told the Watauga Democrat.
Legacy Roofing & Restorations Gifts Roof to Local Family
In a story from Fox-affiliated WXMI, Legacy Roofing & Restorations in Ottawa County, Mich. shares how the company decided to make Christmas come a little early for a local family.
Jeremy Strotheide, owner of Legacy Roofing & Restorations, told WXMI that he met Carlos Dandridge to provide a payment plan for the roofing work his company performed. When he found out the family had landed on hard times, he provided the work free of charge.
“It’s just great to be able to give back to the community, so I was happy to do it for him and his family,” said Strotheide.
Roofing by Home Plus Donates to Florida Local VFW Post
The Pine Island Eagle reports that Robert Rinko, Jr., owner of Roofing by Home Plus and a Navy veteran, donated to the VFW Post 4332 to help with its “Operation Insulation.” Rinko, Jr. provided the donation following a roof replacement at the VFW Post home.
Alan’s Roofing, Owens Corning Give Roof to Navy Vet
Alan’s Roofing teamed up with Owens Corning to deliver a new roof to Mary West, an 86-year-old Korean War-era veteran in Citrus Hills, Fla.
“This is a way for us to give back to someone who served our country, and this is the least we can do,” Charlie Higdon, commercial project manager for Alan’s Roofing, told the Citrus County Chronicle. “And how can you say no to someone as appreciative as Mary West?”
The project was part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, which thanks veterans around the country for their service by donating new roofs free of charge. More than 300 veterans have received a roof since the program’s inception in 2016.
Boak & Sons Donates $10,000 to Toys for Tots
Boak & Sons in Youngstown, Ohio joined forces with the Salvation Army and iHeart Media to donate $10,000 to Toys for Tots.
“There is a staggering number of children in the Youngstown area alone who don’t have the means to celebrate the joy and magic of Christmas, and by helping The Salvation Army, we’re able to remind those children that they are not forgotten and that they are loved,” said Sam Boak, president and founder of Boak & Sons.
Premiere Roofing Replaces Church Roof Free of Charge
The pastor of the Lighthouse International Church called it a "Christmas miracle" and the "blessings of God" as Premiere Roofing in Jacksonville, Fla. installed a new roof at no cost to the ministry.
WTLV-WJXX said Brandon Davis, owner of Premiere Roofing of Jacksonville, said he met the pastor through a mutual friend, and offered to take on the $80,000 job for free.
"He explained some of the services that he wanted to provide to the community through the church, so we listened," Davis said. "I discussed it with my team and it was pretty much a no brainer from there."
Lords Roofing & Sons Provides Roofing Services for Donations to Charity
For the fourth year, Liam Anderson of Lords Roofing & Sons in the U.K. provided roofing repairs on Dec. 18 and 19 in return for donations. This year’s donations will be split between Ashgate Hospice and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
“The smile that I got off the first customer during that first year was enough to thank me for the whole weekend. Everyone was so grateful," Anderson told the Derbyshire Times.
Nugen Exteriors in the U.K. Dress as Santa During Roofing Job
The Daily Record reports how Nugen Exteriors in Chapelhall, Scotland brightened the spirits of their community by dressing up as Santa Claus while completing some roofing work.
Two partners and four members of the roofing company dressed up in Santa Claus outfits while working on a roof. The amusing sight went viral on social media apps like Tik Tok.
“Over the last three years we have done a job on Gibb Street in Chapelhall at this time of year and I thought it would be fun to do something festive,” said Terry Campbell of Nugen Exteriors.
