Anyone paying at least a little attention knows it is a tough time for contractors right now with inflation and supply chain issues increasing the costs of business. Unfortunately, these issues can lead to arbitration, which itself can become costly.
“It can be expensive,” said Trent Cotney, partner at Adams and Reese. “The taxpayer dollar usually pays for that judge, you’re paying out of pocket for the arbiter. You want to make sure that it’s the right choice for you.”
In this podcast, Cotney gives a few brief tips on what contractors should know about arbitration as well as some important items to keep in mind if you’re looking to buy or sell a contracting company. Cotney also provides an update on a case in Florida involving a law that directly affects contractors and their abilities to solicit business.
