A kindergarten teacher at Pine Tree Primary in Longview, Texas received quite the surprise thanks to Stonewater Roofing.
NBC-affiliated KETK shared the story of Michelle Hill, who began volunteering and substituting at Pine Tree Primary in January following her bout with colorectal cancer. During her treatments, she befriended her daughter’s teacher, Jackye Mosley. When Mosley discovered Hill would be teaching at the school, she nominated Hill for Stonewater Roofing’s annual Clear the List Contest.
The contest, now in its fourth year, asks for nominations from the local community of teachers who need supplies. Winners have their entire Amazon Wishlist purchased by Stonewater and the supplies are delivered.
KTEK reports that on Wednesday, Mosley and Stonewater Roofing surprised Hill with everything from her list.
“To see her face when she turned around, and 'your list is cleared' was truly heartwarming,” Jacob Law, co-owner of Stonewater Roofing, told KETK.
Hill said she felt blessed that people like Stonewater Roofing are helping out teachers.
“It’s an honor for my story to be told and to be recognized so that others can know that you can go through hard things and come out, and there’s something else that you can give. You can still be giving to the community and those around you,” Hill told KETK.
