Supply and distribution behemoth ABC Supply Co., Inc. announced on June 13 that it had bestowed the company’s annual Ken Hendricks Award, its most honor, to two associates in Maryland and Virginia for demonstrating a commitment to the company’s character and core values.
The Ken Hendricks Award award, named in honor of ABC Supply’s late co-founder, was given to James “Jamie” Crawford from Salisbury, Md., and Charles “Chuck” Morgan from Lynchburg, Va. In a statement announcing the honors, ABC Supply CEO Keith Rozolis praised the men for their exemplary service to the company.
“Jamie and Chuck are impactful leaders who have continuously shown their dedication, commitment and desire to support their associates and their communities,” Rozolis said. “They are a testament to the character and core values of our company.”
Crawford began his tenure at ABC Supply in 2010 when the company acquired Bradco Supply, a New Jersey-based building materials distributor, where he was branch manager. A year after the acquisition,
Crawford was made a managing partner at ABC Supply; he was inducted into the President’s Club in 2014.
Under his leadership, the Salisbury, Md., location has been awarded “Center of the Year” for 11 straight years, eight of those at the “Diamond level.” ABC said Crawford’s leadership is evident through the “…consistent mentorship he offers his associates and peers, as well as his many contributions to causes and charities in his community.”
Morgan joined ABC Supply in 1987 when he was hired as a delivery driver for the company’s Norfolk, Va., branch. During his 36-year career with the company, he was elevated to branch manager of ABC’s Lynchburg, Va., location, leading the outlet and earning it a “Gold Center of the Year” facility for five straight years. He also became a managing partner and was inducted into ABC Supply’s President’s Club.
Morgan’s leadership, ABC said, can be seen in the long tenure of many of his associates. “The respect and care he has for his customers, and the entrepreneurial spirit he embodies to ensure success for not only his location but the entire company,” the statement read.
“These two gentlemen exemplify the type of character Ken championed,” Diane Hendricks, ABC Supply’s chairman, said. “Their passion and drive for supporting their fellow associates, making our company better and our customers happy, and keeping their communities great places to live is evident, and I thank them for that.”
Crawford and Morgan will be recognized later this year at ABC Supply’s annual Founders’ Celebration picnic at the company’s National Support Center in Beloit, Wisconsin.
