Beacon Acquires S&H Materials Corp. of New York
Long Island-based materials supplier is Beacon’s seventh acquisition this calendar year

S&H Building Material Corp., a family-owned business in Medford, N.Y., about 60 miles east of New York City on Long Island, has supplied builders, contractors and homeowners with roofing, siding and other building envelope materials to Suffolk County since 1965.
Beacon Building Supply, one of North America’s largest suppliers and distributors of roofing and building materials, announced it had completed the acquisition of S&H Materials Corp., based in Medford, N.Y., on Long Island.
In a September 5 news release, Beacon described S&H as having built a “… five-decade legacy serving Long Island builders, contractors, and homeowners.” The company’s president, Brian Rosenstein, seemed pleased.
“We are thrilled to announce S&H is joining Beacon,” Rosenstein said. “We believe this next phase of our history will enable us to continue serving our loyal customers well into the future.”
Year to date, Beacon has expanded its branch footprint by completing seven acquisitions and opening 14 new greenfield locations.
“We are pleased to welcome S&H’s employees and customers to the Beacon team,” said David Doran, Beacon’s regional vice president, North Atlantic. “Expanding our depth of service in the Long Island market will bring S&H customers the opportunity to benefit from our digital solutions, TRI-BUILT product line and the Beacon OTC network.”
