Integrating technology into a roofing contractor enterprise requires innovation and the ability to adapt quickly. Both have been hallmarks of Josey Parks’ career in roofing over the past two decades and will be on display as he delivers the keynote address at the International Roofing Expo (IRE) on Feb. 6.
Parks, a member of the IRE Advisory Committee, agreed to kick off the three-day event after the initial speaker, AI Futurist Zack Kass, was invited to the White House to speak to the Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence the same morning.
Parks is already scheduled to present twice later during the show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with a specific focus on how AI is already creating results for roofing companies in various markets and has the potential for so much more.
He will stay on topic for the keynote, discussing the latest technology orbiting the roofing industry while trying to demystify AI for roofers, approaching it with caution. Roofing contractors can walk away with a better understanding of how to apply the new technology in real-world scenarios that can help their businesses.
“We have to be ready for any changes,” said Parks, an RC Young Gun in 2014. “We need to explore and embrace using technology in effective ways to better serve our customers, grow our businesses, and help us make more money.”
Show organizers said Josey’s insight offers a guide for contractors and industry leaders to think big about the future and see the opportunities AI can provide. The keynote session is sponsored by Malarkey Roofing Products.
“We are excited to hear from Josey on how we can navigate AI in the roofing industry. His industry perspective will be so valuable,” said Brandi McElhaney, senior conference manager with Informa Markets.
A second keynote address featuring Liza Hausman, Houzz’s vice president of industry marketing, remains scheduled from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7. The Keynote Break will feature snacks and refreshments and is sponsored by Rillavoice.
