Power Home Remodeling, a national exterior home remodeler and Fortune magazine’s No. 13 ‘Best Company to Work,’ announced last week the appointment of Dr. Anu Gupta as the vice president of Community Impact — a first-of-its-kind position for the company.
In a Feb. 14 news release, the company said creating this new position and the hiring of Gupta reinforces POWER’s commitment to fulfilling its greater purpose of realizing the potential of the communities we live and work in.
“We are incredibly inspired and excited to have Anu architecting our community impact strategy,” said co-CEO Asher Raphael. “We have extremely lofty goals for our employee-led giveback programs, and Anu's personal and professional experience make her uniquely qualified to take on that challenge.”
Dr. Gupta joined the home remodeler most recently from McKinsey, a global professional services firm, where she led philanthropic giving, environmental sustainability, and environmental, social, and governance actions.
Her seven-year tenure included the creation of McKinsey’s first-ever social responsibility and sustainability department, including its flagship philanthropic initiative, McKinsey.org. Prior to McKinsey, her 20-plus-year career in corporate social responsibility included leadership positions at The Fannie E. Rippel Foundation and Johnson & Johnson.
As Vice President of Community Impact, Power said Dr. Gupta will launch and oversee Power for Good, a set of employee-led initiatives that places POWER people at the center of philanthropy, giving employees a voice and choice in where funding goes to impact causes they care about.
This support is activated by nominating, partnering, volunteering, fundraising, and elevating the causes of national and local nonprofits, creating an impact in communities across the country where POWER operates. Dr. Gupta will also serve as President of the new Power for Good Foundation, which further mobilizes the Power for Good mission to realize potential in our communities.
This includes POWER’s support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, where total contributions over the last 15 years have surpassed more than $7.6 million. Since 2011, POWER has unified employees around this purpose-driven initiative, where more than 70% of the company is mobilized to donate to the nonprofit.
