In partnership with GAF and G. Fedale Roofing and Siding, Roofs from the Heart recently installed a new roof for a deserving Newark, Del. family at no cost to them. The homeowner is a retired military teacher that raised two children in this home, which had several active leaks that led to deterioration of windows and floors on the inside of the home.
Roofs from the Heart covered the costs for labor and installation, and GAF, one of North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturers, donated roofing materials. G. Fedale is the general contractor for Roofs from the Heart and offers the organization discounts on their roof replacement contracts.
The new roofing system will also help two other home repair organizations be able to complete their work to help this family further. GAF noted in a release that Milford Housing Development Corp and Good Neighbors played a crucial part in this project and Energize Delaware was a major donor for funding the roof replacement. All of these home repair nonprofit organizations worked together to positively impact disadvantaged homeowners.
This collaboration was part of GAF’s social impact initiative, GAF Community Matters, which is focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources, and products to help build resilient communities.
Roofs from the Heart is a nonprofit organization was founded by G. Fedale Roofing and Siding. Their mission is to provide quality new roofs to those who cannot maintain that basic provision of safe and secure shelter for their families, in order to keep the family in their home, and in their community. The concept of the roof giveaway has been in place and operated by G. Fedale Roofing and Siding since 2016: it was after considerable need, interest, and growth that they decided to form their own organization.
GAF, Roofs from the Heart, and G. Fedale Roofing and Siding plan to work on several homes together in 2024.
