The Castagra Roofing Scholarship Program has opened up for applications, which supports individuals pursuing a career in roofing or a similar field who are passionate about innovation and/or sustainability.
In order to qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Pursuing a post-secondary education in college or vocational programs in roofing or a similar field.
- Castagra will consider applicants who are not planning to attend school if they fit the other guidelines and can prove they're "dedicated and passionate about entering the industry."
- Similar field must be applicable to the building industry (construction, waterproofing, etc.)
- Passionate about innovation and/or sustainability
- An American or Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Castagra Products employees and their family members are ineligible
Submissions must be received by Aug. 30. Application must include a two-to-four-minute video or an essay detailing educational and career goals, objectives, and how the applicant will contribute to the roofing industry.
The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship, while the runner-up will receive a $500 award. The winner will be notified via email on Sept. 6, 2024.
Last year's winner was Quinton Godfrey, who is attending Western Carolina University to pursue a career in construction management. Godfrey's aspirations include becoming the CEO of a large construction company focused on sustainability.
