Benchmark, Inc., a nationwide roof and pavement consulting service based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, announced last week the retirement of its leader, Ron Harriman, and the appointment of Vince Ellison as the company’s new head.

In a May 16 news release, Benchmark said the leadership transition continues supporting growth and success under Harriman’s guidance; his last day will be June 30. Under Harriman’s direction, Benchmark expanded its footprint nationwide, providing technical expertise and consulting services to companies with multiple facilities and complex assets.

Benchmark added that Harriman’s strategic vision and passion for excellence grew out of 25 years of serving with Kent Mattison, Benchmark's former owner and CEO. Benchmark is an industry leader in roof and pavement evaluation, design, and construction phase services.

“It has been an absolute honor to lead Benchmark and work alongside some of the most talented and dedicated professionals in the industry,” Harriman said. “I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together and … under Vince’s leadership, the company is poised for even greater success.”

Benchmark noted that the transition has been years in planning. It explained that Ellison spent the last two years working alongside Harriman to ensure a smooth transition; the company added that Ellison brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to drive the company forward.

“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead Benchmark, a company renowned for its incredible client roster, expertise, integrity, and commitment to service excellence,” Ellison said. “I look forward to building on this 'Built to Last' legacy and steering the company towards new horizons of success.”
