Local companies that make or provide basic materials - roofing, cement and steel - saw dramatic gains in their stock prices Monday as they stand to gain from the cleanup after Hurricane Katrina. Dallas-based ElkCorp, which makes roofing and building products, was among the area's biggest gainers, up 8 percent to $31.68.
LAKEWOOD, N.J.-Gusmer and LCC/Decker, two companies in the reaction injection molding (RIM) equipment market, have combined to become Gusmer l Decker. The new corporation will maintain the existing technical support and services of both brands, while moving forward to develop cutting-edge metering machines and mixing heads for processing multi-component polyurethane and hybrid urethane chemicals.
