I was lucky enough to be on hand earlier this month when Kemper
System held the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in West Seneca, N.Y.
It’s one of two new facilities the company is opening; the other, in Closter,
N.J., be the company’s new United States marketing and sales headquarters and
will house Kemper’s premier National Customer Care and Technical Center.
The West Seneca location
will be a manufacturing center for the company’s roofing and waterproofing
systems and surfacing solutions. In a time where layoffs and plant closings are
all too common in the news, it was nice to see some expansion for a change, and
the local media in Buffalo
was on hand to cover the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Due to our continued market expansion and increase in
product demand we are able to expand our investment in North America which will
benefit our community, our industry and our customers.” said Steven Cortazzo, President of Kemper System, Inc.,
the marketing and sales arm of Kemper System in America.
In response to continued growth and demand in the United
States, Kemper System GmbH & Co. KG., a member of the IBG Group of
Companies, purchased the 45,000-square-foot manufacturing center in West Seneca.
“The new manufacturing facility is a testament to Kemper
System’s commitment to the state of New York
and its belief in the revitalization of the United States building and construction
industry,” said Richard Doornink, President of Kemper System Production, Inc.
A ribbon cutting ceremony featuring IBG and Kemper System
executives was held March 2 at Kemper’s manufacturing center located at 1200 North American Drive
in West Seneca. For more information, visit www.kempersystem.net and www.ibg-cologne.com.
Those taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremony included Alf
Schmidt, CEO, IBG Group; Richard Doornink, President, Kemper System Production,
Inc.; Ulrich Hocker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, IBG Group; Steve
Cortazzo, President/CEO, Kemper System, Inc.; Marc Baberuxki, Managing Director
of Kemper System Germany; and Andreas Wiggenhagen, Managing Director of Kemper
System Germany.
