Holcim’s Malarkey Roofing Products broke ground on a 350,000 sq. ft. facility in Franklin, Ind., set to open in 2026, which is expected to create 200 jobs producing recycled-material asphalt shingles.

The new $35 million,127,000-square-foot facility will produce Metl-Span’s range of insulated wall and roof panels for use in various end markets including warehousing, distribution and data centers.

The expansive IKO site covers over 75 acres and will include an asphalt shingle production facility in its first stage. When the development reaches its full capacity, the manufacturing facility will expand to approximately 700,000 square feet.

Kraton Corporation opened its new headquarters last week in The Woodlands, Texas, about 30 miles north of Houston and incorporated many of the company’s building products into its design. 

GAF said its new facility in Newton will create more than 130 high-skilled manufacturing jobs in management, engineering, and operations.
