Beryl, the first named storm of 2024, has caused destruction from the Caribbean to the Yucatan and is expected to make landfall on the Texas coast as a Category 1 hurricane Monday morning, bringing dangerous storm surge, flash flooding, and strong winds.  

Forecasts are predicting an estimated 17 to 25 total named storms for the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.
