Roofing contractors and roofing industry professionals from around the country again pitched in with some much-needed repairs and safety improvements to the homes of some well deserving New Orleans residents as part of the 9th Annual Community Service Day at IRE 2018 Monday.
More than 60 volunteers with expertise in different roofing-related fields put their building skills to the test, completing a wide range of projects for local seniors and military veterans.
“We began this tradition at the 2010 International Roofing Expo to make a positive difference in the lives of those still suffering the effects of Hurricane Katrina,” said event organizer Brandi McElhaney. “Nine years later, we are still going strong and helping families in multiple cities.”

For the 13th consecutive year, Roofing Contractor’s Best of Success conference brought together contractors and other roofing industry professionals from around North America to share their successes, failures and hopes of improving their businesses going forward.
This year’s conference in Tucson, Ariz. showcased a number of inventive, educational and motivating speeches from industry experts, roofing contractors, manufacturers and distributors. Attendees were able to network amongst each other and learn about the industry from the point of view of their peers in a non-competitive environment. The 95th Annual FRSA Annual Convention and Expo drew roofing contractors and other roofing professionals from around the region to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando from June 22-24.
The event featured several special events including a golf tournament at the Shingle Creek Golf Club, as well as a clay shooting tournament at the Tenoroc Shooting Range in Lakeland. The show itself featured more than a dozen continuing education sessions over three days, and showcased hundreds of exhibitors. Planning for next year’s convention and expo scheduled for June 27-29, at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee is already well underway.

The Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) has officially kicked off the 43rd Western Roofing expo at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
Roofing contractors from all over the western United States gathered Sunday for a range of fundraising events for the Davis Memorial Foundation to kick-start the show, including the annual golf outing, a sporting clays tournament and silent auction. The foundation was established 20 years ago in memory of Larry and Mary Davis, who died in a plane crash returning from a WSRCA event in 1995.
The expo floor opens today and features a wide variety of exhibitors, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with manufacturers, suppliers and other industry contacts.
Some of the more notable events at this year’s show include keynote speaker Jay Johnson, a ventriloquist with more than thirty years of performing experience, as well as the 3rd annual Roofing Games which will feature a steep-slope nailing competition. Attendees are also encouraged to attend seminar sessions to help network and grow their businesses.
Roofing contractors and industry professionals converged on Las Vegas in record numbers for the 2017 International Roofing Expo (IRE) March 1-3. The sold-out show floor at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center consisted of exhibitors from 476 different companies offering a wide range of products and services.

To kick off the 2017 International Roofing Expo (IRE), Women in Roofing, an organization that promotes and advances the careers of female roofing professionals, hosted a welcome reception on Tuesday at the Islander Room I at Mandalay Bay, the host site for IRE.
Women from all walks of the roofing industry gathered to network and empower one another, while discussing what’s planned for the roofing industry in 2017 and beyond.
The reception featured a streamed video interview with guest speaker Kaney O'Neill, president of O'Neill Contractors Inc. O’Neil shared her impressive journey, transitioning from Navy Seal, to owning and operating her own successful roofing company. Her unique experience of perseverance and integrity was showcased throughout the evening.
To jump-start the 2017 International Roofing Expo (IRE), the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) hosted two separate tournaments Tuesday morning.
Dozens of foursomes teed off at the NRCA/ROOFPAC Golf Tournament at the Bali High Golf Club in Las Vegas. The event began promptly with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. and followed a standard scramble format. The event was sponsored by Johns Manville.
The NRCA also hosted the ROOFPAC Sport Shooting Tournament at the Pro Gun Club of Las Vegas. Nearly 50 roofing professionals gathered to showcase their shooting capabilities at this unique tournament that featured a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains and canyons. The event was sponsored by Polyglass.

Roofing contractors gathered in Columbus, Ohio last week for the 67th annual Midwest Roofing Contractors Association Expo. The event was held at the Hyatt Regency Columbus and the attached Columbus Convention Center, from Oct. 31 – Nov. 2.
Some highlights from this year’s convention included “Navigating the Future”, which focused on emerging technologies throughout the industry, as well as how to plan, implement and leverage those technologies in a way that benefits your business.
This year’s auction theme was Day of the Dead, and in addition to the in-person experience, folks also had the opportunity to bid online, allowing those who couldn’t physically attend, an opportunity to help out a great cause.
The event concluded with Chris Spielman’s keynote address. Spielman, a two-time All-American linebacker at The Ohio State University and a Lombardi Trophy winner, retired from the NFL following his wife Stefanie’s breast cancer diagnosis. His speech highlighted the struggles and triumphs faced throughout their journey, as well as the thriving charity he established in her honor, The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.
