The popularity of metal residential roofing continues to grow. Some estimate its share of the residential market at about 18%, with the potential to grow as severe weather events impact neighborhoods coast-to-coast.
To advocates like the Metal Roofing Alliance, one of the nation’s largest trade groups representing the interests of metal roofing contractors and manufacturers, timing is critical because the opportunity is too big to let pass by.
“Residential metal roofing in the U.S. and Canada now represents the single-largest unfulfilled business opportunity in the industry,” said MRA Executive Director Renee Ramey. “In many regions, demand is high and continues to rise. This year, IRE attendees have the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business the secrets for tapping into residential metal roofing’s incredible potential.”

Despite high demand in many regions, are roofing contractors ready to seize the opportunity? And for installers and contractors trying to compete in a commodity business, how do they avoid the race to the bottom? How can the trades get away from competing on price and tap into growth segments that are ripe with higher margins and unrealized potential?
These and other questions will be the focus of the MRA’s panel discussion on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at booth #7141 on the show floor. Led by Buildproduction.com’s social media sensation Stephanie Dailey, a licensed general contractor with Steven Dailey Construction of Utah, attendees will get a lively discussion on how to navigate the issues impacting metal residential roofing to success. She is considered a leader in Utah’s construction industry and built a brand on social media with tens of thousands of followers on Instagram. Dailey’s custom builds often showcase stunning residential metal roofs.
Joining her are other seasoned experts with years of experience building highly successful residential metal roofing businesses. Chuck Roberts, general manager of AL-CO Metal Roofing and James Goodwin, vice president of estimating with San Antonio-based Beldon Roofing Company will join the panel along with MRA’s Ramey.
