Ashland Specialty Chemical Co. has purchased Polydyne Inc.’s gel-coat business and assets.

Ashland Specialty Chemical Co., a division of Ashland Inc., Dublin, Ohio, has purchased Polydyne Inc.’s gel-coat business and assets. The newly acquired business will operate within the Composite Polymers Division of Ashland Specialty Chemical Co. The division plans to lease, and continue operations at, the former Polydyne gel-coat manufacturing plant in Johnson Creek, Wis. Gel coats are pigmented polyester resin coatings used in the transportation, marine and building construction industries. Polydyne Inc. is a specialty-coating company that will continue to operate in the roofing and protective-coating industry.
