A new thermoplastic roofing manufacturing facility is to be built in Tooele, Utah (Salt Lake City region). The state-of-the-art plant will produce Carlisle's Sure-Weld® TPO single-ply roofing membranes and related accessories. "The Tooele facility will be our second manufacturing plant for TPO products, enhancing our service capabilities to the Western market," said Ron Head, Carlisle's sales and marketing manager, Thermoplastics Group. "Our Senatobia, Mississippi, plant opened in 1998, expanded with a second production line in 2001, and has allowed Carlisle to establish itself as the industry leader in thermoplastic roofing systems." The new facility will position Carlisle as the first major roofing manufacturer with a TPO plant in the Western United States.
In response to growing demand for its environmentally friendly polyisocyanurate insulation products, Carlisle's Hunter Panels division will open its fourth plant in Terrell, Texas. This plant will complement Hunter's existing plants in Chicago; Kingston, N.Y.; and Lake City, Fla. As a result, Hunter will be able to supply insulation on a wider basis to its national and regional distribution customers and for Carlisle SynTec's roofing customers. "The Hunter team is very enthusiastic about its entry into the Texas and Southwest markets. Our established customer base enjoys solid market share in these growth areas and we hope to bring another level of service and personality to their polyiso needs," said Alma Garnett, vice president of Hunter Panels, Portland, Maine.
In addition to its insulation plants and its TPO production facility, Carlisle SynTec has been manufacturing EPDM membrane and accessories for more than 40 years in its Carlisle, Penn., and Greenville, Ill., plants.
