Owens Corning announced the appointment of Daniel T. Smith to the position of senior vice president, human resources. Mr. Smith will begin his new position with Owens Corning on Sept. 14.

TOLEDO, Ohio - Owens Corning announced the appointment of Daniel T. Smith to the position of senior vice president, human resources. Mr. Smith will begin his new position with Owens Corning on Sept. 14.

Smith has held leadership positions in human resources for more than 20 years. He joins Owens Corning from Borders Group Inc., a worldwide retailer of books and media. He most recently served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer, where he successfully led global human resource functions and was instrumental in developing talent. He also oversaw information technology, communications, purchasing, and loss prevention functions. Before that, Mr. Smith served as executive vice president of human resources.
