EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Allied Building Products Corporation has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the assets of Eldersburg Building Supply Company (Eldersburg), a privately held gypsum wallboard and related accessories distributor based in Baltimore.
Founded in 1969, Eldersburg currently services the Baltimore, Washington, and Hagerstown, Md. metropolitan and surrounding areas with four locations. In 2007, the Corckran Acquisition Corporation, a private equity group, acquired Eldersburg from the Irrgang family. Jeff Irrgang, a shareholder and president of Eldersburg, will continue to run the Eldersburg business going forward.
“The Eldersburg Team is extremely pleased to be joining the Allied team,” Irrgang said. “We have long respected Allied as a competitor. As part of the Allied family, we look forward to servicing our customers from our expanded distribution platform.”
Allied’s Interior Products business has been active in the Washington/Baltimore areas since 2005. Allied’s two neighboring exterior products branches, in Gaithersburg, MD and Leesburg, VA, will further enhance the Eldersburg footprint.
“Allied is delighted to be uniting forces with Eldersburg,” Ron Pilla, president of Interior Products for Allied, said. “The common culture of providing the highest level of customer service makes the Allied and Eldersburg alignment a natural fit.”
