WAYNE, N.J. — GAF has announced the latest winner of its “Share What You Treasure” promotion. The new Facebook app features documentary videos created exclusively for GAF by photographer and filmmaker James Minchin III, which depict families and what they treasure most under their roofs. GAF roof owners are invited to share what is protected under their GAF roof to potentially be selected to star in the next webisode.
GAF’s most recent winner is Dr. Dale Rice, DVM, a GAF roof owner and second-career veterinarian in Elizabeth, Colo. “The most important thing under my roof is my home,” said Dr. Rice, a GAF app user whose GAF roof was featured in the latest webisode created by Minchin. “My home is not just my house; it’s my family, kids, grandkids, dogs, cats, veterinary practice. It’s everything around me.”
Since its launch on February 14, GAF’s app has had more than 8,000 visits with 1,149 visits solely through a mobile device. Users are invited to share photos or links to what they treasure under their roofs, and are entered to win weekly $100 Home Depot gift cards and a $2,500 grand-prize shopping spree. Users who have a GAF roof are invited to enter to be part of the next online webisode shot by Minchin, who has worked with Miranda Lambert, Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine. Users can also view others’ collections and engage through “like” buttons and comments.
“At GAF, we are aiming to change the way people think about their roofs. It’s not just a functional piece of the home that keeps out weather and the elements; it’s also a trusted structure that protects everything people value inside their homes. This new app allows us to do just that, and to connect with homeowners on what they value and treasure most,” Marketing Communications Manager Alyssa Hall said. “The weekly contest allows us to give back to our users, as we may all need a little helping hand with home improvements.”
GAF understands a roof protects more than a house — it protects the treasures people hold dear to their hearts. This new online community is open for all to join, and to share what they treasure most through videos and photos. Users will also have the chance to learn what matters most to Americans all over the country.
