HERNDON, Va. — Beacon Roofing Supply has announced the winners of its first-ever Beacon of Hope contest, giving five deserving veterans from around the country brand-new roofs.
By working together with veteran-friendly roofing contractors, Beacon will deliver and facilitate the necessary roof repairs and replacements to the homes of the winners. The repairs will be at no cost to the recipients.
Beacon collected dozens of submissions from around the nation of veterans facing difficult times, whether it was financial hardship or health problems. From those submissions, 10 finalists were selected. The top five winners of the contest were chosen through online public voting. Those with the most votes receive a new roof, while the five runners-up receive $1,000 to go toward necessary repairs.
“We are committed to helping veterans that live and work in our communities, and the Beacon of Hope contest is just one way that we can support our veterans who have served our country and are facing adversity in the years following their service,” said Jamie Samide, Beacon’s vice president of marketing. “We are honored to give back to these deserving veterans and their families.”
The winners of the contest are:
- Lori Lee A. – Turner Falls, Mass.
- Donald A. – Redford, Mich.
- John B. – Albuquerque, N.M.
- Betty F. – Suffolk, Va.
- Michael S. – Overland Park, Kan.
