ROSEMONT, Ill. — Tecta America has announced that Donald Walter will assume the position of operating unit president of F.J.A. Christiansen Roofing Co. Inc. in Milwaukee, Wis. as of April 1, 2020. He became a vice president in 2017 and has been a critical member of the management team involved with all areas of the business.
Walter has approximately 14 years of roofing industry experience with F.J.A. Christiansen, along with prior construction industry experience with a custom skylight manufacturer. Since joining Christiansen in 2007, Tecta said Walter's role grew quickly in responsibility and he has been a team leader in sales, estimating and project management.
Earning his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2000, Walter has also completed a variety of Tecta training programs, including BLT and leadership.
"I have the utmost confidence that Don is ready for the challenge and will do a great job," said Rob McNamara, F.J.A. Christiansen chairman.
Walter will be taking over the position from McNamara, long time president of F.J.A. Christiansen Roofing. McNamara will remain with Tecta as he continues to lead its vendor relations and provide additional operational assistance across the company. He will also remain with Christiansen as chairman until Dec. 31 and will assist Walter as he transitions into his new role.
"This is a win-win for Tecta. We are excited to have Don in his new role at Christiansen, and look forward to Rob's continued contributions to Tecta in our growing national operations," said Mark Santacrose, Tecta America CEO.
The announcement comes as Tecta America celebrates its 20th anniversary of being in business. Founded by a group of 10 roofing professionals with 17 locations in 2000, Tecta has since grown to 75 locations with over 3,500 employees.
