9. Roofing Contractor Sentenced to Prison for Scamming Victims Out of $250,000

Back in January, a roofing contractor in Massachusetts using his business to scam 39 homeowners out of more than $250,000 faced justice after pleading guilty to multiple charges. The Brockton Superior Court sentenced him to two-to-three years in prison followed by three years of probation.

SRS Distribution held its Raise the Roof Foundation fundraiser during the 2020 International Roofing Expo in Dallas. It’s no surprise this story gained a lot of attention — not only did SRS bring rock ‘n’ roll legends Journey to perform, but former President George W. 1. U.S. Marshals Arrest Roofing Con Artist in Dallas for Swindling Victims

In one of the most liked and shared stories of 2020, a man accused of scamming victims for more than a decade with bogus roofing services was caught by U.S. Marshals and the Mesquite Police Department in Texas. Police posted RING doorbell video footage of the scammer in February, which helped lead to his arrest.
