BRYAN, Ohio — To keep up with unprecedented growth, ABC US just broke ground on what will soon be a 64,000 square foot packaging facility in Pioneer, Ohio. The project began on May 10 with site preparations and is expected to wrap up by Dec. 31, 2021.
The new Pioneer facility will house all fastener packaging operations. The company will move all raw and finished materials associated with packaging requirements, as well as all automated, semi-automated and manual packing operations, from Bryan to Pioneer.
“The new Pioneer packaging facility will have office space for current office and administrative staff, as well as space for additional employees,” said Allyn Luce, vice president of manufacturing, ABC US. “In total, 60 associates will relocate to Pioneer. The facility will also allow for additional investment in employee growth, with 30 new positions planned between Bryan and Pioneer operations.”
The Pioneer facility will allow for continued investment in machine capital to meet expected growth. The company has already ordered two new automated packaging machines to arrive at the building’s completion for installation. This space will allow for further automation including fully integrated robotic material handling and packaging.
“In addition to the opportunities the Pioneer facility provides, these changes open up space at the Bryan facility for additional fastener manufacturing equipment and a newly built training center for not only operator specific training, but also overall workforce development education,” said Luce.
