As the country continues to re-open following the COVID pandemic, roofing trade shows like the 99th Annual Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Expo are ramping up to host professionals at in-person events.
RC Publisher Jill Bloom catches up with Cheryl Sulock, director of conventions and trade shows with the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association (FRSA), to share the latest details roofing professionals need to know about the association's 99th annual convention and expo, taking place July 21-22 in Kissimmee, Fla. Join roofing contractors, architects, building officials, and industry suppliers as they gather at the expo to learn about the latest products and services from more than 230 industry exhibitors.
After having to switch to a virtual format for its 98th annual convention and expo, the FRSA says registrations are already hitting 2019 record numbers for its in-person event. With that in mind, health and safety are a top priority, and the FRSA is following CDC guidelines as well as the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center's health practices.
"People can expect to see a lot of enhanced cleaning measures in place at the resort, lots of hand sanitizing stations, we'll be following social distancing guidelines and we do have a mask policy in place for unvaccinated individuals," said Sulock.
With the return of in-person event comes all the activities contractors have come to know and love. Attendees can enjoy sports tournaments like golfing at Celebration Golf Club, fishing in Port Canaveral, or pistol and clay shooting at Tenoroc Shooting Range.
"We couldn't get rid of the sports, that's the best part," Sulock said with a laugh.
