MCKINNEY, Texas — SRS Distribution Inc. announced that it has acquired Weatherpanel Inc., a leading distributor of residential and commercial roofing, siding, windows and doors, and other related products. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Buffalo, N.Y., the company was founded in 1948 and is currently run by Frank Vacanti and Maria Wrafter. Vacanti joined Weatherpanel in 1978 and has been president since 1991, with Wrafter joining in 1994 and acting as vice president since 2002. Vacanti and Wrafter will continue to lead the company’s dedicated team under the Weatherpanel banner, ensuring continuity and consistency for customers, suppliers, and employees.
“We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Frank, Maria, and the rest of the Weatherpanel team," said Dan Tinker, president and CEO of SRS Distribution. "The company is one of the oldest and most respected independent distributors in New York and will be a perfect complement to our B&L Wholesale Supply branches in the region. It is truly an honor to welcome Weatherpanel as the newest member of our amazing family."
Tinker noted the transaction also marks a milestone in SRS history as the 100th acquisition since its founding in 2008.
"I’d like to extend a sincere ‘thank you’ to all of the loyal and hardworking members of the SRS family for making this possible. We could not have achieved such tremendous success without each and every one of you," Tinker said.
Vacanti said Weatherpanel has always prided itself on being an independent distributor with a reputation for taking care of its people and putting the customer first, making it a natural fit for SRS.
"After meeting with the folks at SRS, we discovered a rarity in the distribution industry — a national company that shares our values, operates like a family-owned business, and is supported by a fanatical team that loves what they do," Vacanti said.
Wrafter added that everyone Weatherpanel has interacted with at SRS throughout the process has been upbeat, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile.
"We couldn’t be happier about our decision to join SRS and are incredibly optimistic about what the future holds for all of our dedicated employees," said Wrafter.
