Beacon announced the top 12 finalists for its annual Beacon of Hope, a nationwide contest awarding deserving veterans with new roofs. The public can vote for veterans in need of a safer roof now through Oct. 22 at Beacon of Hope 2021.
For the third year in a row, as part of Beacon’s commitment to its communities, Beacon will deliver and facilitate roofing repair or replacement for six veteran contest winners at no cost to the recipient. Additionally, six second prize winners will receive $2,500 each to help complete necessary repairs.
“We received dozens of nominations citing veterans across our country facing financial hardship and health disabilities while living under roofs in need of repair,” said Jamie Samide, Beacon’s vice president of marketing. “The Beacon of Hope contest was created provide support to veterans and their families, and ensure they are protected by a reliable roof. We encourage the public to honor veterans within their communities by voting for them to receive a new roof.”
From Oct. 5 through Oct. 22, the public can vote for the veteran finalists at the Beacon of Hope website to determine the six winners. The number of votes will determine the 2021 Beacon of Hope winners who will be announced on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The 2021 contest finalists include (in alphabetical order):
