The New Year is here, and while things may not seem to change day-to-day, there is some legal significance to when the calendar flips, said Trent Cotney, CEO of Cotney Attorneys & Consultants.
In his latest Legal Insights video with RC, Cotney shares some tips on what roofing contractors should be thinking about as we kick off 2022. The five-minute outline touches on things all contractors should do to kick-start the new year, not just from a legal standpoint.
"I really am a business owner, just like anybody that's listening to this," said Cotney. "A lot of the real hard lessons I've learned have been through this business, because the business is a reflection of you as an owner, it tells you what you're doing right and what you're doing wrong."
For example, one area roofing contractors can work on at the beginning of the year is taking a hard look at the business and find any ways to trim the "fat" from it so the business is set up for profitability.
