Thousands of roofing contractors and industry stakeholders recently helped the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association (FRSA) celebrate 100 years of service. RC Publisher Jill Bloom caught up with FRSA President Joe Byrne, owner of the BRI Roof Consulter Corp., to talk about what the event, and involvement in the organization means to him.
“It’s been quite an honor to be the 100th president of an organization like this,” he said in this brief video. “Some of the same problems they were dealing with then are still problems today: labor, materials, insurance, regulations. We’re trying to keep a beat on what’s going on in the industry.”
A former contractor for 35 years, Byrne also weighed in the recent changes to Florida’s insurance laws and how they will impact roofers.
