Florida is home to one of the roofing industry’s most robust – and heavily regulated – markets on the continent. But that’s just part of the draw to the 101st annual Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Expo July 12-14.
Thousands of roofers and industry stakeholders are expected to attend the expo back under one roof at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Fla. Lisa Pate, executive director of the Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Association (FRSA) said more than 200 companies will exhibit the latest products, services and innovations in the trade. In addition, organizers also plan dozens of high-quality courses that will update contractors on the latest code changes on critical topics like wind uplift, as well as recent changes to state law.
“Our codes change here every three years in Florida … and this year we’ll be into the 8th edition of the Florida Building Code,” Pate explained in a brief video chat with RC Publisher Jill Bloom. “We’ve developed seminars on part of the code where there are changes.”
