Roofing and waterproofing company Snyder Roofing & Sheet Metal, based in Tigard, Ore., with offices in Oregon and Washington, announced on October 4 that it had transitioned ownership and control to company CEO Josh Mullen in a succession plan securing its future in the Pacific Northwest.
Snyder, a century-old firm, said that effective September 30, 2023, Mullen assumed full ownership of the concern following a succession plan created in collaboration with the King family, Snyder’s previous owners.
The transfer of ownership will not impact operations, the company statement said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company added that it would continue to provide “…the same high-quality roofing and waterproofing services while maintaining its unwavering commitment to employees, customers, and long-standing union affiliation.”
“This is a milestone moment for every person here, but it’s business as usual,” Mullen, the company’s CEO since 2020, said. “Our vision and our culture define who we are at Snyder, and that will only continue to deepen.”
The statement emphasized that the company will maintain its core values: community, industry investment, relationships, and quality, adding that its previous principal, Jim King, wanted to ensure the business remained in local hands.
“It was the wish of Jim King to sell the company to an employee if the family ever decided to sell,” Mullen said. “He knew his customers valued Snyder’s roots in the Pacific Northwest … for more than 100 years, we have kept our local customers covered and dry [and] it’s vital that we keep operations and leadership local”
Mullen said he was honored to have the opportunity, with the blessing of the King family, to build upon his legacy.
