Roofing contractors are investing in their workforce and work spaces at the same time in order to expand training, retention efforts.

Training is becoming more integral to the success of roofing contractors in just about every market. With new scientific innovations and emerging technologies flooding the market, there’s always something for roofing contractors to learn. RC Publisher Jill Bloom recently asked Madsen Roofing & Waterproofing’s Christian Madsen and Elizabeth Sanford to discuss how their developing their employees through internal training.

“I’m sure everybody listening is struggling with labor, so we’ve decided to train from within,” Madsen explained. “We’re taking individuals that have lower skill set or have not been in the industry for a long period of time and we’re taking them in with our foremen and we’re doing certain tasks that they can become very proficient at.”
