Asphalt roofing shipments dipped in Q4 2024, continuing a seasonal trend, but the year saw record highs in several categories, including the strongest year for U.S. shingle shipments since 2017 despite growing interest in roofing materials like metal.

Products like mod bit saw its best quarter ever, while other products saw modest increases compared to Q1 2024.

Some of the largest increases and decreases for Q1 product shipments have occurred this year, according to data from the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association.

The deadline to submit a project for consideration for the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association’s annual Excellence in Asphalt Roofing Awards is coming up fast: applications must be submitted by Dec. 1.
