ROSEMONT, Ill. — Tecta America Corp. has hired Nathan “Nate” Smith as a federal account sales manager. Smith’s focus will be to facilitate the growth of federal contracts for the Tecta America operating units in the Western United States.

Smith joins Tecta America after his recent release from active duty, where he served as the senior officer in charge for a training branch that planned exercises and training missions for army medical, logistical and engineer units deploying to Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait.

Prior to joining Tecta America, Smith held the position of director of business development and marketing for James Hardie Building Products Inc., where he developed market share and primary demand growth plans and strategies. Smith increased sales for the James Hardie product line from zero at start-up to $11 million annually in just 15 years.

Smith is still actively involved with the Army Reserve, where he is a colonel serving as the exercise branch chief assigned to the 75th Division at the Denver Federal Center. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a master’s degree in business administration, and also a 2010 graduate of the Army War College with a master’s degree in strategic studies. He will be located in the Denver metropolitan area.
